Supporting Parents to be the Best –Northeast Early Years Parent Engagement Strategy – Conversation Cafes - 2013-14

It is widely accepted that early childhood experiences set the trajectories for mental and physical health, student achievement and employment. Positive early childhood experiences can also be protective factors for health throughout the lifespan. It is also known that parents have the greatest influence on children and their development. Between April and November 2013, the Northeast RIC in partnership with the 0-3 Years Early Childhood Task Force hosted parent focus group ‘Conversation Cafes’ to gather parent perspectives. The parent responses in this document will be utilized  to guide our early years strategy to achieve the goal of supporting parents to be the best they can be to improve early childhood outcomes.
